Yggdrasil uses a dice pool system with these key elements:
Basic Mechanics
- Dice Pool: Attribute + Skill + Modifiers
- Target Number: 8, 9, 10 on d10 (or 5, 6 on d6)
- Success: Meeting or exceeding target number
- Exceptional Success: 5+ successes (3+ with Inspiration)

Inspiration System
Replaces Chronicles of Darkness Beats
Characters gain Inspiration by doing something epic or especially notable.
Inspired Condition: - Your character is deeply inspired - When taking actions related to that inspiration, you may resolve this condition - Benefits: Gain a Willpower point and treat 3+ successes as Exceptional Success (instead of 5+) - Resolution: Use the condition for its benefit
